Our baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. It sometimes feels like PB is practicing martial arts as the initial fluttering movements have turned into full-fledged kicks and nudges. I have also started to discover a pattern. It seems that around 9-9:30 am, as I'm sitting at my desk, PB starts some moving around, and then again around 10-10:30 pm when I'm laying in bed. Seems like we may have a night owl on our hands, just like mama! In other developments, our baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and supposedly if we're having a girl, her "lady parts" have begun to form as well. So I'm not completely sure why we weren't able to see anything (boy OR girl parts) during the ultrasound last week.
Speaking of, we have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I am hoping we are able to get an ultrasound and maybe a confirmation of the gender. I told the nurse who called me this morning reminding me of the appointment our situation, she said the technician usually does not come in until 9 am...our appointment is at 8 am. She said to talk to our OB about it and she may want to do one. Fingers crossed and extra prayers that we find out, for sure this time, if PB is a girl or not! :)
She will also evaluate the measurements that were taken during the anatomy ultrasound, so they may know what percentile our baby is in and be able to tell us more about her (or him).
On another note, one of my best friends is having her baby today. Her water broke yesterday around noon, but still no baby yet. She was only 5 cm as of this morning (has to get to 10 cm), so they prepped her for a c-section and gave her antibiotics. She's been in labor for 24 hours now, and they scheduled her c-section for 1 pm. I'm waiting to hear back what's happening now... I know she's frustrated and ready to meet her little man, so lots of prayers for Tasha and Baby Riley!!!
